Hole by Hole Description

HOLE 1 ♦ Par 4 ♦ 388, 376, 350 Yards

The starting hole is a solid golf hole and offers a fair challenge out of the gate. The hole plays downhill to a fairway that bends softly to the left. With a creek guarding the front of the green, coupled with a pair of bunkers, make sure your approach shot is on the mark. The green slopes slightly from back to front and is very receptive of birdie opportunities.

HOLE 2 ♦ Par 4 ♦ 369, 366, 353 Yards

The second hole is no breather hole either as the golfer is confronted with Out of Bounds looming on the entire left side of the hole. Play for direction not distance off of this tee box, as tall fescues bordering the right side of the fairway make accuracy a must. The green is average in size and relatively flat. Beware of the deep bunker to the back left of the green.

HOLE 3 ♦ Par 4 ♦ 442, 426, 452 Yards

This hole starts one of the best 3-Hole stretches in Delaware, as you will need a good tee shot to attack this green. The Tee shot comes from an elevated tee and gently rolls down, then up, then down and up once more. Once again, left is O.B., but you have room to maneuver on the right. Most players will have a blind second shot to a small green that slopes from right to left. Par here is a great score.

HOLE 4 ♦ Par 4 ♦ 452, 444, 432 Yards

The second leg of this trio is also one that requires a well-struck tee shot. With a soft dog-leg left, a drive too far right will bounce into the tree line. In addition to the sure distance this hole typically plays into the wind, so you may need everything in your back to get home in two. A well bunkered, elevated green awaits your lengthy approach shot.

HOLE 5 ♦ Par 3 ♦ 210, 160, 157 Yards

The toughest par 3 on the course finishes out this great stretch of holes. With only a small green to attack, coupled with over two hundred yards and fierce winds, this hole can be downright gruesome. The green is tiered in the middle so be sure to get the ball on the right level to have a shot at making a birdie. Deep bunkers right and left guard this already narrow green.

HOLE 6 ♦ Par 5 ♦ 510, 498, 485 Yards

The only par 5 on the course may be your best opportunity for birdie. The fairway is flat and generous, but try to favor the left side of the tree-lined fairway so you can have an optimal approach to the green. The fairway will then bend to the right and narrows as you get closer to the green. A well-placed second shot will allow for a short iron into this small green that slopes from back to front.

HOLE 7 ♦ Par 4 ♦ 360, 351, 340 Yards

Out of bounds to the left guards this short but tricky par 4. Remember to add a club to your approach shot, as you will have to contend with an elevated green and a prevailing head wind. It’s easy to come up short in which you could end up in the lone greenside bunker short and right of the green.

HOLE 8 ♦ Par 4 ♦ 388, 384, 376 Yards

A good tee shot will catch the downward slope in this fairway giving you a few extra yards. Be careful as with many holes on the front side, O.B. is lurking to the left. Your second shot is uphill making for a little longer shot than it appears to be. The green is deep so take a look at where the pin is before you go to the bottom of the fairway. A greenside bunker looms short and left of the green awaiting weak approach shots.

HOLE 9 ♦ Par 3 ♦ 148, 143, 131 Yards

A nice par three to finish the front nine. This short little hole looks easier than it is. With a pair of bunkers and a very undulating green that slopes from left to right, par may be a better score than you realize. Try to keep your tee shot on the low side of the pin as your ideal strategy.

HOLE 10 ♦ Par 4 ♦ 367, 350, 347 Yards

Deja-vu as you tee off the same giant double tee as the starting hole. A well-placed tee shot is required to attack this green. With a hard dog leg left try to keep your tee shot out to the right side so you can avoid having a blind approach shot. In to reach the putting surface safely you must avoid the deep bunker to the short left side of the green and also the pond to the right and backside of the green. This green has a soft tear in the middle so try to keep your second shot on the appropriate level.

HOLE 11 ♦ Par 4 ♦ 380, 366, 335 Yards

This is another hole where direction rules over distance. Your tee shot must carry the pond and then reach a fairway that bends softly to the right. Keep your tee shot to the left side of the fairway so you will be able to see the entire green on your second shot. This green is relatively flat and provides golfers with a simple putting surface requiring little effort to read the line of your putt.

HOLE 12 ♦ Par 4 ♦ 298, 279, 262 Yards

Big Hitters eyes will pop out and mouths will salivate over the “Grip it and Rip it” Twelfth Hole. No doubt, this short par 4 is an excellent birdie opportunity. However, the golfer is confronted with a challenge that is located on both sides of the elevated green. First the green is small, and a deep bunker with boulder formations on the left side can ruin all chances of achieving a good score.

HOLE 13 ♦ Par 3 ♦ 145, 135, 125 Yards

The lucky 13th is arguably the hardest par 3 under 150 yards. With sand bunkers on both sides and large trees behind the green, you’re left with no bail out areas. Humps in front of the green keep you from seeing the bottom of the flag stick when the pin is down front. Be sure to get your tee shot on the right level in order to have a good chance at par.

HOLE 14 ♦ Par 4 ♦ 382, 370, 367 Yards

This hole is as straightforward as you can get. Keep your drive in the generous fairway and you will have another good chance at a birdie. This green has subtle undulations but is well guarded with bunkers to the right and left.

HOLE 15 ♦ Par 4 ♦ 352, 345, 344 Yards

Driver is not always the best choice here. This hard dogleg right requires a well-placed tee shot to attack the green, as a plethora of pines surround the fairway. Your approach shot will play slightly uphill to a green that slopes severely from back to front. Try to keep your approach shot under the pin to have a good chance at making a putt.

HOLE 16 ♦ Par 4 ♦ 355, 349, 332 Yards

This hole appears much longer than it is. With out of bounds both right and left, you must keep your tee shot in play. If you can find the fairway you will have a good chance at making a birdie here. There is a large bunker short and left of the over sized green. The green is deep so be aware of where the pin is before hitting your second shot.

HOLE 17 ♦ Par 3 ♦ 179, 160, 144 Yards

The last par 3 on the course is a good one. An enormous bunker guards this massive green that is full of undulation, but primarily slopes from back to front. Check the wind, pin placement, and fire away.

HOLE 18 ♦ Par 4 ♦ 400, 380, 374 Yards

The closing finisher is a dandy! Many matches are lost and won on this classic risk-reward par 4 as the tee shot can significantly change your strategy. The fairway gently descends and bends to the right before slowly climbing towards the green. If you elect to cut the corner, you will have to hit a towering drive to carry several trees. Make sure to take a sneak peak at the stone chimney on the right side of the fairway that serves as the course logo. The green features a false front and a trio of bunkers located on the front left side as well as the rear. Once you’ve found the green your work is not over yet. The toughest green on the course slopes from back to front. Par here is a great score.
